CSI President Ashraf Habibullah honored with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) George Winter Award

CSI President Ashraf Habibullah was honored with the coveted ASCE George Winter Award at the SEI/ASCE 2005 Structures Congress Awards Luncheon held at the Hilton New York in New York City on April 22, 2005. Asif Habibullah accepted the award on behalf of his father, who was on a seminar tour across India.

The George Winter Award recognizes a structural engineer who has consistently worked to advance the profession and who has demonstrated a commitment to the artistic needs of the community through work performed in an area not directly related to engineering.

Mr. Habibullah was recognized for his outstanding support for the arts through his involvement with Diablo Ballet and the Engineers' Alliance for the Arts.

Mr. Habibullah is the co-founder and Board President of the Diablo Ballet, a highly acclaimed San Francisco Bay Area-based dance company founded in 1993. He is also the founder of the Engineers' Alliance for the Arts.
